We have proposed some service changes to the practice the document links are below:-

Consultation Document and Consultation Survey

The proposed changes are:

- to relocate services from The Welby Practice, Bottesford to the adjacent Belvoir Vale site

- to modify the opening hours of our branch surgery at Waltham

NHS Long Term Plan - As medicine advances, health needs change and society develops, the NHS has to continually move forward so that in 10 year’s time we have a service fit for the future.

The NHS Long Term Plan is drawn up by frontline staff, patients groups, and national experts to be ambitious but realistic.

Please see the link to the NHS England Long Term Plan

Evening Clinic - Extended Access Service

From week commencing 26 November 2018 the above service will be delivered at:-

Belvoir Vale Surgery, Bottesford     6.30pm-8.30pm    Thursday

There will be a clinician session and nursing session running with appointment availability at an increased level to accommodate the same level of appointments previously offered.

The last Monday clinic will take place on 19 November 2018.

We will assess the level of uptake over the coming months.

Many thanks for your kind co-operation.

Information Notice

Repeat Prescriptions - we have reverted back to two full working days for repeat orders.  In accordance with NHS guidance repeat prescriptions are, in general, issued as a one month supply.

Belvoir Vale Surgery has now merged with The Welby Practice

As there are two sites in Bottesford we will refer to the practice as The Welby Practice with the site name as Belvoir Vale or Welby Bottesford, the other locations are known as Harlaxton and Waltham.

You will notice some changes e.g. The Welby Practice header on letters, etc.

You will be able to book appointments with GPs, ANP, NP, Nurses and HCAs across all the sites.

diary_appointmentMorning and afternoon clinics are held Monday to Friday. As per government directives, the practice offers pre-booked, same day and urgent appointments. The days of availability of individual doctors at each surgery will vary. They work to a rota thus ensuring they attend each surgery on a regular basis. You have an option to book an appointment at any of the three sites.

Routine appointments booked with either the doctor or nurse will be allocated 10 minutes. Occasionally, consultations are clinically complex or emergencies may arise. These events are unpredictable and can result in delays to booked appointments. Please bear with us in these circumstances, our reception staff will always explain if the surgery is running late.

Please help us to help you by booking the appropriate time for your appointment.

  • One problem = One ten minute appointment
  • Two problems = Double appointment (20 minutes)

Emergency Appointments

We also have appointments that become available on the same day or within 48 hours - these are usually used for emergencies. There is a limited supply of emergency appointments so we would ask you only to use these if genuinely needed.

Please aid our reception staff in booking appointments by only taking an emergency appointment if you really need it. The receptionists will ask for basic details regarding your condition as they have guidelines provided by the clinicians to work by.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to offer the appointment to another patient.

Consideration will be given to removing any persistent non-attenders from the practice list.

If we have to cancel a surgery we will always, where possible, try to offer you an alternative with the same GP or nurse as close to that date as we can.

Online System

We offer an online system for booking appointments, ordering prescriptions and viewing your own personal Summary Care Record (Allergies, Sensitivities, Medication).  Please note you will need identification to be able to register for this facility which will need to be presented to a receptionist who will set up this service.  Once registered please see 'Online Services' in our Quick Links section at the top of the right column.
